Golden Echo Films, LLC, is a start-up independent film company targeting production of feature films and documentaries aimed at theatrical release, DVD sales, and online distribution.
Our objective with A Wink and a Smile is to produce a high-quality high-definition musical documentary that follows the lives of ten burlesque students as they learn the art of the striptease. The film will also weave in performances from Seattle-based burlesque divas to illustrate Miss Indigo Blue’s lectures. The film climaxes with the students' final performance.
We are aiming for a rough cut premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, 2008 and a final cut premier at Toronto International Film Festival, 2008. We will also enter A Wink and a Smile into other high-profile film festivals such as Cannes and Sundance.
Golden Echo Films will seek a distributor(s) that supports A Wink and a Smile through industry festivals, online marketing and the wild world of contacts.
We strongly believe that there is a healthy, diverse audience for A Wink and a Smile. This is a multi-generational, all-sizes, racial celebratory musical documentary, suitable for adults of all ages. The journey will cover real people on a real quest to explore their inner sexuality, grapple with their body images, and indulge in hip-swinging musical entertainment. Our greatest desire is to imbue the audience with a healthy attitude toward their own self-image and inspire them to stand up, put on a special outfit, and dance!
